CURRENT NUT CONDITION:
Walnut Pie

9” unbaked pie shell
2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
½ cup light brown sugar (packed)
¼ cup soft butter or margarine
¾ cup sugar
3 eggs
¼ teasp. Salt
¼ cup corn syrup
½ cup milk
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
½ teasp. Vanilla extract
¼ cup broken walnuts

    • Preheat oven to 375°F
    • In double boiler, melt 2 sq. unsweetened chocolate.
    • Remove from water and mix with brown sugar and butter; beat until well blended.
    • Add sugar; mix well. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition to blend. Add salt, corn syrup, milk; mix well.
    • Cook over boiling water, stirring, 5 min. Remove from water; stir in chopped walnuts and vanilla. Pour into lined pie plate.
    • Bake for 1 hour; scatter broken walnuts on top; bake 5 min. Cool.
