In 1964, Charles and Alice Crain began planting their first trees. Since then, with the help of their Children; Chuck, Bill, Hal and Helen, they have continued to produce the highest quality walnuts in the industry. After years of walnut growing, Alice, Charles, Bill and Hal brought their business into the walnut packing industry as C.R. Crain and Sons, Inc. Shortly after establishing the business into the packing industry, Chuck founded Crain Walnut Shelling (specializing in shelled walnuts) and Helen began managing Eco-Shell, Inc; processing all the byproduct material into earth-friendly products.

From keeping growers informed on the current walnut markets, keeping up to date on the newest farming technology and growing procedures, to processing the nuts in our state-of-the-art packing facilities; we maximize grower returns and provide customers with premium California walnuts.

 

Our family has been actively involved in the walnut industry for over 50-years and has become one of the largest walnut processing operations in California. We are proud to have employees, growers and customers who have worked with us from our earliest days.
